All Souls Parish Church, built in 1896, located in Peterborough has always been actively involved in the community by organising many events such as Coffee Mornings, Mums and Tots and children’s catechism. There is a proud sense of community of which the locals love to get involved in. Until recently staff had been solely relying
on a basic, domestic style kitchen for their cooking since opening the Parish Centre in 1996. However, it became apparent that this wasn’t sufficient to cope with the demands of the ever-growing catering requirements. Therefore, by working with CaterFix the decision was made to upgrade to a commercial style kitchen.

At Caterfix we have a team of inhouse CAD designers who will work with you to ensure your kitchen meets all your needs. Offering superb 3D visuals and detailed M&E and kitchen plan drawings we will ensure you have all the technical details required to pursue your project quickly. By listening closely to the demands of All Souls Church we successfully met the standards All Souls Church were looking for. “I loved cooking in it,” says Pat, one of the Parish volunteers. “The stainless-steel fabrication creates a smooth finish for the kitchen, leaving more room and giving it a professional commercial kitchen look. The kitchen staff were very excited about cooking in it.” As well as the kitchen, the church was going through other renovations. The wooden floor in the Centre was professionally cleaned and restained and sealed, office space will be refreshed and en-suite facility has been filled to one of the rooms in the house. When asked why they decided now was the right time make changes Pat explained that they haven’t had a redesign in 20 years and it needed to “freshen up”. CaterFix were proud to be part of this renovation and ensured we would fit all equipment smoothly – which we did in just 2 week.

The Equipment
At the heart of every kitchen is its equipment, the focal point of this project was to turn this domestic style kitchen into a simple, yet versatile commercial kitchen design that would adapt to all eventualities. We couldn’t have done this without the right commercial equipment that Caterfix offers. The Team fitted Altro flooring, wall cladding, new kitchen lights, a
microwave, a sleek granite countertop and perhaps the most defining part of the kitchen was the stainless-steel fabrication and Hobart undercounter dishwasher. We received a generous amount of feedback from the staff about how the Hobart dishwasher has benefitted them. A member of the wash up team has Parkinson’s disease and she expressed how helpful the dishwasher’s easy accessibility is for her, considering the church feed up to 50-100 people the Dishwasher has proven itself a significant factor in their every day operation.
Further to this, when we asked members of the Church how they benefitted from our products, the overall feedback showed that they were pleased with the large amounts of storage space and the sleek marble worktop is a perfect addition to the commercial style kitchen. In addition to this, the stainless-steel fabrication provides easy access by having smooth sliding doors and drawers and wider counter area for food preparation.
